Who We Are

Tax help that teaches, not just files.

Mr. Taxes Pro is a tax preparation and planning practice in Oakland Park, Florida, built on the belief that people make better financial decisions when someone takes the time to explain things.

Our Story

A firm built on explaining the work.

Most people meet their tax preparer once a year, hand over a folder, sign where they're told, and leave without understanding a line of what was filed for them.

Mr. Taxes Pro was built because that never sat right. Returns get walked through before they're filed, deductions get explained rather than just claimed, and when a client is doing something that will cost them next year, they hear about it while there's still time to change course.

"I don't want you to just sign it. I want you to understand it."Djenald Richard, Founder

Today it's a Black-owned firm where the leadership all hold MBAs, backed by fifteen-plus years of professional accounting experience and a CPA in progress. A client can bring a tax question, a set of books, or a business-structure decision to the same place and get an answer that holds up. The free financial literacy workshops we run across South Florida come from the same idea. "Your Trusted Partner in Financial Literacy" isn't decoration.

The Team

Who you're actually working with

A combined background in tax, accounting, and operations, with a bench that keeps growing.

Djenald Richard, Founder

Djenald Richard

Founder & Lead Tax Professional

AFSP certified and listed in the IRS Directory of Federal Tax Return Preparers, with fifteen-plus years preparing returns for South Florida filers and business owners.

Djenald works with individuals, gig workers, self-employed filers, and small business owners across Oakland Park, Fort Lauderdale, and greater Broward County, in person and virtually. His focus is tax planning: the year-round work that changes what you owe, rather than just reporting it after the fact.

He also runs financial literacy workshops throughout the community, on the belief that clients who understand their own numbers make better decisions with them.

Claude Dolce, Partner of Accounting and Bookkeeping

Claude Dolce

Partner, Accounting & Bookkeeping

Fifteen-plus years of professional accounting experience, a bachelor's degree in Finance, and an MBA concentrated in Accounting. He is currently pursuing his CPA.

Claude helps small and growing businesses keep accurate, organized financial records, and helps owners understand the numbers behind them. Monthly bookkeeping, QuickBooks setup and cleanup, catch-up work, reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis.

What separates his work from ordinary bookkeeping is what happens after the categorizing. A background in both finance and accounting means he spots trends, flags problems early, and can tell an owner where the money is actually going. He runs a business himself, which is why he treats financial information as something that has to be useful, not just accurate.

Luis Perez, Tax Professional

Luis Perez

Tax Professional

A bachelor's degree from Florida International University in interdisciplinary studies, and a certificate in actuarial science, a background built on working with numbers and risk. Luis joins the practice ahead of the coming filing season, training directly under Djenald on return preparation and client service.

He played college football at Southern Virginia University and now coaches at Nova High School. Coaching and tax work turn out to share a skill: taking something complicated and explaining it until the person in front of you actually has it.

Outside the office he's in the weight room or working on a new recipe.

Rodney Syffrard, Operations Manager

Rodney Syffrard

Operations Manager

An MBA in Business, and the person responsible for how the practice runs behind the scenes: client onboarding, communications, scheduling, and the systems that move work from the first phone call to a filed return.

Rodney's focus is making the experience of being a client feel organized: you know what's needed, you know where things stand, and nothing falls through a gap.

He also leads the firm's technology and marketing operations, from the website and booking system to the way clients are kept informed through the season.
